Mandarin Language

These lessons are designed for teachers departing to China, however members of the general public are invited to enrol.

On the street in China, especially outside of the major cities, you cannot expect to find English understood or spoken. Thus even a minimum of Mandarin will make a world of difference. Most practical and day-to-day situations, such as ordering food in a shop or cafe, will require some familiarity with Mandarin.

Many Chinese people are very proud of their country and culture - and very excited to share it with foreigners. By knowing some Chinese, you will be making a gesture that will be most appreciated by locals.
